We are fortunate in NYC to truly experience 4 seasons of completely different weather. During our outdoor art experience we will explore art rain or shine. From sculptures made of found objects, live plant manipulation to painting projects in the rain that will change as the ground underfoot does, we will explore how the weather affects not only the process but the art itself. We will study the idea behind the temporary nature of our work as it deteriorates and alters over our time together outside. This will be a hands on, messy, sometimes wet adventure into thinking about art in a different way. We will document our creations with photography (using real cameras) and discuss their experiences over hot chocolate and warm snacks upon returning to school.
